Former Super Eagles defender Taiye Taiwo has completed a move to Finland's third division side Salon Palloilijat with the 36-year-old explaining that he joined the side because he still have lots to offer on the pitch.
Years back, the former AC Milan left back was one of the best defenders in the world considering his attacking styles, shot and also high-level goal sense.
Taiye Taiwo then used to play with all his energy and he succeeded in France while playing for Olympique de Marseille where he scored 17 goals as a defender.
At the age of 36, many football fans in Nigeria and many parts of the world were expecting Taiye Taiwo to announce his retirement from football or make a return to the Nigerian League, but he decided to carry on in Europe.
According to the report on GOAL and BBC, Taiye Taiwo explained that he joined the third division club in Finland so as to help the young players there to grow.
Taiye Taiwo's reaction on move to Finland
"The reason I can play football actively now is because I still have plenty left in the tank.
"A lot of people always say that Africans retire early but I am living proof that we can still play into our late 30s and early 40s.
"I know it's a club in the third division and they are keen to gain promotion. It could be my biggest challenge in Finland, another country I can call home.''

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how former Nigerian defender Taiye Taiwo recalls life in secondary school in the Alimosho area of Lagos state while grooving to popular Fuji artist Pasuma.
The 36-year-old who was the third-best player at the 2005 FIFA U-20 World Cup in the Netherlands was all smiles miming and making dance moves to the song.
Taiwo got pumped up as the artist hailed the 'Centre of Excellence' where he got his primary and secondary schools education.
The left-back then focused on playing football after his foundational studies as he kicked off his European career in France with Olympique Marseille.
