It goes without saying that when you receive good news in life, it calls for a celebration.
But former Manchester City man Micah Richards took celebrations to new heights after he reportedly blew KSh 17 million on a wild night out in Los Angeles when he was 19.
Richards, now working as a BBC pundit, recently featured in the Match of the day podcast where he narrated what it was like to go from a £5000 (KSh 745000) to £50,000 (KSh 7.5 million) a week before the age of 20.
While narrating his experience, Richards admitted the money came a bit too early for his own good, and the massive pay rise had an interesting effect on him.
"I was given a bit too much too soon, so you just down tools a little bit,” he said in the podcast.
"And I am not afraid to say because you know the papers will document it. I went from £5,000 a week to £50,000 a week. From 18 to 19! That's what I mean!
"So I'm on £2.5m a year. This is in the late 2000s. I went from £500 to £5,000 a week and it was fully deserved at the time.”
“Being a man”
According to the former fullback, at the time all he wanted to do was prove he was a man, and this for him entailed going out and buying his then friends drinks.
"It was different because you're going out and you're buying everyone, you want to be the man, the man around the town.

His confession left his co-hosts Alan Shearer and Gary Lineker stunned.
Richards left Manchester in 2015, joining Serie A side Fiorentina on loan, before eventually joining Aston Villa in a permanent deal.
His career however did not go back to its peak at Villa and a consistent knee injury forced him to retire at the tender age of 31 in 2019.
