Rohr's unconvincing results as coach of the Super Eagles

Though the Nigerian side finished top of Group C, the team were held to a 1-1 scoreline by Cape Verde in the final game played at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos.
Rohr's men also suffered a shocking defeat to the Central African Republic in their third group game in Lagos before taking revenge with a 2-0 win in the second leg.
During the AFCON 2022 qualifiers, the Super Eagles also surrendered a 4-0 lead to draw 4-4 against Sierra Leone on home soil.
With the strings of events in the past few months, reports had circulated that Rohr has been sacked as Super Eagles boss.
NFF's official statement
However, the NFF have released an official statement that the German-Francophone is still in charge of the West African side.
“The Board of the NFF is studying the report of the Technical Committee, which it submitted after the match against Cape Verde in Lagos on Tuesday. There are a number of possibilities but we have not taken a decision to sack Gernot Rohr. I want to assure that whatever decision is eventually taken will be one that will please the generality of Nigerians.

Football“Mr Rohr has a contract with the NFF and there is a procedure for disengagement. If we get to that bridge, both parties will look at the contract and see what has to be done both ways.
"The Super Eagles' squad is a national asset and we are just fortunate to be in that space to take decisions. Any decision we take must be what will be acceptable to Nigerians from far and near.”
