The men's team managed to win their second-ever Champions League title against all odds under the tutelage of Thomas Tuchel.

The Blues stunned rivals Man City in the final on a marvellous night in Porto, Portugal, to be crowned champions of Europe.

The women's team nearly replicated the feat as they reached the Women's Champions League final for the first time in history.

However, domestically, they did manage to win two titles including the Women's Super League and the League Cup.

The club's success had a further impact on their players as they had five of their stars nominated for the prestigious Ballon d'Or award.

While none of the five was able to bring the award home, two of them made it in the top five, with Jorginho finishing third in the power rankings.

Messi was one of the favourites to win a record seventh Ballon d'Or and the main man arrived at the venue in Paris for the ceremony along with his wife Antonella Roccuzzo as well as their kids

The Argentine won his first international honour at the Copa America and switched Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.
