Manchester United hit a new low under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as Watford claimed a deserved 4-1 victory at Vicarage Road on Saturday, November 20.
In what was another disastrous afternoon for the Red Devils, they had to finish the game with 10 men after Harry Maguire was shown a red card in the second half.
Prior to the clash, Solskjaer, during a press conference, assured Manchester United fans that they would see a reaction after the derby defeat to Manchester City.
Summary of the game
But United were anything but brilliant throughout the game, as they played with sloppiness and at times with lackluster tendencies that has been synonymous with the team in recent weeks.
In a thrilling first half, Watford got the chance to take the lead after Scott McTominay bundled forward Joshua King inside the box.
But against the odds, Ismaila Sarr missed the resulting penalty twice, even after the referee ordered a retake for encroachment.
Despite the brilliant penalty saves from David De Gea, United still did not get going in the game and the Hornets eventually took the lead through Joshua King, who profited from a ball in the box from Emmanuel Dennis.
Sarr would then make amends for his penalty miss with a powerful low shot across De Gea after some questionable defending from United.
United pulled one back through substitute Donny van de Beek from a Cristiano Ronaldo's headed assist to make it 2-1.
