Kenyan international Michael Olunga’s goal has been nominated for the goal of the tournament in the AFC Champions League.
Olunga recently grabbed the golden boot after smashing in nine goals in the group stage for his side Al Duhail.
Despite the nomination, the former Gor Mahia striker will face stiff competition from nine other opponents, who managed to bag some memorable goals in the latter stages of the competition.
All of Olunga’s goals in the AFC Champions League came in the group stage as his side did not make the knock out stages.
The goal in contention for goal of the tournament was a cheeky free-kick against Al Ahli Saudi that was drilled low from outside of the box.

Lucky for Olunga, anyone can vote for his goal to boost his chances of winning the award.
To vote, one needs to visit the AFC official portal and head to the bottom of the page to access the Kenyan international’s name.
Olunga, who won the Most Valuable Player while playing for Kashiwa Reysol in Japan in 2020, has continued his goal-scoring prowess in Qatar for Al Duhail.
He is currently the goal scoring charts in the league with his 12 strikes in a mere seven games.
More recently, he took to social media to announce he had been crowned the Qatar Stars League (QSL) October/November Player of the Month.
