  • Nuno Espirito is staring at an uncertain future only months after he was appointed Spurs boss
  • Espirito was appointed to the role as a permanent replacement for Jose Mourinho
  • However, with the side managing just five wins in 10 matches, the axe could be swung on him
  • The ex-Wolves boss is understood to have held crisis talks with Spurs chiefs after the United loss

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering sacking Nuno Espirito as manager following their defeat to Man United at the weekend.

Goals from Cristiano Ronaldo, Edinson Cavani and Marcus Rashford were enough to help United down Spurs 3-0 in north London.

The result is understood to have left Espirito under immense pressure just months after he was appointed to the role.

The Sun reports the tactician has since held crisis talks with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy to discuss his future.

According to the publication, Levy must now decide whether to fire Nuno who has picked just five wins from their opening five Premier League matches.

Should the north London club reach the decision of sacking Nuno now, the former Wolves boss would go down as the shortest-serving manager in the history of Tottenham.

French boss Jacques Santini currently holds that record having been relieved of his duties after just 155 days back in November 2004.

Meanwhile, Nuno's uncertain future with Spurs comes only days after he was booed by the club's support base who called for his sacking.

The 47-year-old was appointed to the role in the summer and has been in charge for 17 games.

Tottenham currently find themselves sitting eighth on the log with 15 points, five off a top-four place.

Barca name new manager

Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported Barcelona have confirmed the appointment of Sergi Barjuan as the interim manager following the sacking of Ronald Koeman.

Barjuan will be in charge of Barcelona's first team until a substantive appointment is made.

A former Barcelona player, Sergi has been managing the club's B team.

Nou Camp legend Xavi has already been touted as a possible permanent replacement for Koeman.
