Champions League Winner Delivers 'Bitter-Truth' Message That Will Infuriate Chelsea Fans
FootballMan United Legend Gives Only Condition That Will Make Chelsea Win Premier League Title This Season
- Paul Scholes had earlier in the season named Liverpool and Man City as clear favourites to win the Premier League
- At the time, the former Man United midfielder gave Chelsea no chance of challenging for the domestic crown
- However, he has now made an about-turn and tipped the Blues to have a go at the eague title
- The west Londoners are currently topping the standings with 30 points after 13 rounds of fixtures
Man United icon Paul Scholes has conceded Chelsea could win the Premier League title this season should they manage to keep Romelu Lukaku fit.
Scholes' admission is a stunning U-turn from his previous prediction where he had claimed the league title is between holders Man City and 2019/20 champions Liverpool.
At the time, the legendary midfielder ruled out Chelsea from the title race, claiming they stood no chance.
Scholes made the suggestion after Liverpool mauled Man United 5-0 at Old Trafford in October.
Since then, Chelsea have won two and drawn two of their last four league fixtures and remain on the summit of the log with 30 points, a point ahead of second-placed City.
During the period, the Blues have had to contend with the absence of Lukaku who has been battling an ankle injury that he picked during his side's 4-0 win over Malmo in the Champions League.
But with the Belgian nearing full fitness, Scholes finally contends the west Londoners have a genuine chance of winning their first Premier League crown in five years.
"I think Lukaku is a big difference to him [Tuchel]. They need to get him fit, if he can play the rest of the games this season, they are going to have a great chance," Scholes said as quoted by Metro UK.
Following their weekend 1-1 draw with Man United, Thomas Tuchel's charges will be desperate to bounce back to winning ways when they travel to Vicarage Road to take on Watford on Wednesday, December 1.

FootballMichael Carrick speaks over controversial penalty awarded to Chelsea
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Manchester United boss Michael Carrick was not impressed over the referee’s decision to award Chelsea a penalty in their 1-1 draw with the Blues at the Stamford Bridge.
With Chelsea missing a handful of chances in the first half, the second half was more of an open contest as the Red Devils got their noses in front following a huge error from Jorginho.
The Italian midfielder who was the last man in defence controlled the ball into Jadon Sancho's path as the Englishman had to run 30-yards before applying the finish to make it 1-0.
Jorginho made amends for his error as he converted his spot-kick in the 69th minute to make it 1-1 after referee signaled a penalty in a controversial manner.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka was penalised for kicking Thiago Silva while trying to clear the ball, but replays show referee Anthony Taylor made the right decision which infuriated Carrick.
