Man United have officially announced the exit of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as club manager.
Solskjaer's departure comes just hours after United's 4-1 demolition by Watford at Vicarage Road on Saturday, November 21.
Coming fresh from a poor run of results, United staged one of the most lacklustre performances against the Hornets, with Donny van de Beek, who has rarely featured this term scoring the consolation.
An emergency meeting involving United chiefs is understood to have been held shortly after and a decision was reached to get rid of Solskjaer.
Barely 24 hours later, Man United have formally announced the departure of the Norwegian, with the club sharing an official statement on the development on their social media feeds.
In the statement, the club took time to thank the legendary striker for his services, admitting getting rid of him was a difficult decision to make.
"Ole will always be a legend at Manchester United and it is with regret that we have reached this difficult decision. While the past few weeks have been disappointing, they should not obscure all the work he has done over the past three years to rebuild the foundations for long-term success," the statement said in part.
"Ole leaves with our sincerest thanks for his tireless efforts as Manager and our very best wishes for the future," Man United added.
The 48-year-old was appointed Man United caretaker manager during the 2018/19 season after the sacking of Jose Mourinho.

FootballHe was initially slated to return to Molds at the end of that season but was subsequently handed the Old Trafford job permanently.
Only this summer he was rewarded with a new contract after showing glimpses of success - including a second-place finish in the Premier League last term.
However, a bumpy start to the season has cost him his job - with the Red Devils managing just four points in seven league outings.
Ranieri backs Ole
Earlier, TUKO.co.ke reported Watford manager Claudio Ranieri has suggested Man United should not sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer despite the Red Devils enduring a disappointing run of results in recent weeks.
The Italian tactician noted that the United board should remain calm and allow Solskjaer to continue with his rebuilding plans.
"I understand that United can’t do up and down, but he must have the time to build his action and build his team," he said.
