United have endured a mixed run of form since the start of the ongoing campaign, posting questionable results both in the domestic and continental stage.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's charges currently top Group F of the European elite competition with seven points after four rounds of matches.

However, they will have to win their next fixture against Villarreal to seal qualification for the knockout round after their last outing against Atalanta ending in a 2-2 draw.

The Red Devils had to rely on Cristiano Ronaldo's heroics to snatch the vital point having been dominated through the match.

However, despite the less convincing performances, Sheringham still contends the Old Trafford dwellers have everything it takes to conquer Europe.

According to the ex-United star, Ronaldo could be the person who could inspire the Manchester club to glory.

"When you’ve got Ronaldo in your team, you’re looking to win it. Ronaldo will be looking to win it – he has done it before on many occasions and he will want to do it again," he told Genting Casino.
"Things change very quickly and all United need to do is get to the next level and after that result last night, United are in a good position to get to the next level. You never know what is going to happen," he added.

Messi names Man United among UCL favourites

Earlier, TUKO.co.ke reported Lionel Messi has named Man United among favourites to lift the Champions League title this season.

While Messi admitted PSG have a shot at finally tasting European glory, he was quick to point out the French giants have to be wary of other top clubs eyeing the trophy.

Liverpool, Man City and holders Chelsea are the other clubs the Argentine named in his list of seven teams he believes have a chance of being crowned continental champions.
