Kenya Premier League giants Gor Mahia have exited the Caf Confederation Cup following their 2-1 aggregate defeat to Congo's AS Otoho d'Oyo.
K'Ogalo had suffered a 1-0 in the first leg of the fixture staged in Congo before settling for a 1-1 draw in the return leg played at Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday, December 5.
Roland Okouri scored the crucial goal that made all the difference in the 63rd minute of the clash staged at Stade Alphonse Massamba-Debat in Brazzaville.
Gor were therefore in dire need of a win of at least a 2-0 scoreline to guarantee them a safe passage to the next round of the tournament.
Given the significance of the fixture, Mark Harrison named a strong side against their Congolese opponents, with Jules Ulimwengu who missed the reverse tie making the starting XI.
Incidentally, it was the visitors who took the early lead via Ronald Okouri who fired home the opener in the ninth minute.
However, the lead was short-lived as Gor restored parity moments later through John Macharia who found the back of the net with a clinical finish.
Despite the two early goals, neither side could bag the winner, with the Green Army finding it hard to break Otoho's stubborn defence.
The tie eventually finished 1-1, with the Congolese side progressing to the next stage with a 2-1 aggregate win.
