Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has predicted Paris Saint-Germain could miss out on the Champions League title because of Lionel Messi.
Carragher made the claim after PSG were forced to settle for runners up place in Group A of the European competition following their 2-1 damaging defeat against Man City at Etihad Stadium.
Despite the French giants taking the lead through Kylian Mbappe, City staged a comeback to secure the win after goals from Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus.
The scoreline notwithstanding, City were the dominant side through the match, with Messi and Neymar struggling to make much impact.
Carragher now contends PSG's front three is holding the team back thanks to their uninspiring work rate.
The Liverpool icon went on to suggest the French giants stand no chance of winning the European elite competition.
He said as quoted by Metro UK:
"They [PSG] are carrying three, they’ve got absolutely no chance of winning the Champions League, Paris Saint-Germain, absolutely no chance.
"I get frustrated watching it because with Mbappe more than anybody. I can almost understand Messi to a certain extent, he’s 34, he has to save himself for certain moments, I still don’t think they can carry him, let’s not forget Barcelona haven’t won a Champions League for a long time."
