Super Eagles defender Shehu Abdullahi has said the recall of Odion Ighalo to the Nigeria national football team is good for the country.
According to Abdullahi, Ighalo's experience will go a long way in helping the Super Eagles in their World Cup qualifiers and at AFCON 2022 in Cameroon.
Abdullahi made this known during an interview with SuperSport's Naija Made and as cited on Complete Sports.
Recall that Gernot Rohr included Al-Shabab striker Odion Ighalo in the 24-man list for the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Liberia and Cape Verde this month.
Ighalo's last game for Nigeria was the 1-0 win over Tunisia at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in the Third-place match, a game he scored the only goal.
Reacting to his recall Abdullahi said: “We are all happy to have Ighalo back in the team. With his experience, Ighalo is a top player that everyone looks up to him.
“To have Ighalo back in the team is good for all of us, he will help the team I am sure of that and the coach trusts him and we trust him too.
“With his experience, I think a lot of players there in the team will learn a lot from him so we are happy to have him back.”

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Super Eagles legend Victor Ikpeba has queried the Nigerian Football Federation chiefs and coaching crew under Gernot Rohr for recalling Odion Ighalo back into the Nigerian squad.

FootballVictor Ikpeba who played 31 games for the Super Eagles winning the 1994 Nations Cup explained that he is not pleased with how Odion Ighalo was recalled to the national team.
However, Victor Ikpeba expressed happiness at the return of Alex Iwobi to the Super Eagles.
Ighalo was among the Super Eagles squad that played at the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt where he finished as the highest goalscorer with Nigeria emerging as third best.
The former Manchester United star then decided to walk away from the national team citing a personal reason for the decision.
