Former Super Eagles midfielder and head coach Sunday Oliseh believes Victor Osimhen can be better than the great Rashidi Yekini if he doesn’t get carried away.
Oliseh made this known in an interview with Complete Sports in Abuja and as seen on Nairaland.
He disclosed this while reacting to the return of Al-Shabab striker Odion Ighalo to the Super Eagles.
According to him, Odion Ighalo is a good striker but Victor Osimhen is an exceptional young player.
Oliseh also noted that only Gernot Rohr knows the motive behind Ighalo's return to the Super Eagles even as he had lots of praise for Osimhen.
He said: “Gernot Rohr is the coach of Super Eagles and only him knows why he recalled Ighalo from retirement. Ighalo is good, but Victor Osimhen is an exceptional young player doing so well in a big league in Europe.
“You want me to compare Osimhen with the Late Rashidi Yekini? I will say Yekini with whom I played at Super Eagles is a natural and proven goal scorer but Osimhen is an exceptional striker who can only get better.
“He [Osimhen] is good with the ball on his feet, his movement with and without the ball is great and he is proving to be a good goal scorer too. Aside from the physical difference, Osimhen has all the attributes of Baba Yekini plus his own natural talent. So I believe he can be better than Yekini if he doesn’t get carried away."

Kamal Sowah: Club Brugge Recruitment Director Backs 'Very Good' Ghanaian player
FootballEarlier, Legit.ng reported that Super Eagles legend Daniel Amokachi has reiterated that Odion Ighalo's return to the Super Eagles will not in any way hinder the progress of young players in the national team.
The Al-Shabab striker has returned to the national team two years after retiring from international football and some fans believe the veteran striker would distract upcoming players in the team.
But Amokachi has now backed the return of the in-form striker to the national team.
Ighalo has already scored nine goals in ten appearances in the Saudi Arabian League this season.
