Harambee Stars left-back Eric Marcelo Ouma was over the weekend included in the Swedish Allsvenskan’s team of the week following impressive performances for his side AIK.
Ouma was crucial for his side as they bounced back to winning ways with a 3-0 win over Ostersunds in the league.
In a victory that ended their two-game losing streak, Ouma provided an assist and was defensively flawless to ensure his side came away with all three points and a clean sheet.
Ouma helped his side break the deadlock in the 27th minute after expertly going past three defenders from a throw-in deep in opposition territory.
He would then go on to feed the ball to Nicolas Marcelo Stefanelli, who went on to score an easy finish, with most of the hard work being done by the Kenyan defender.
The opening goal calmed AIK down and set them up for victory and two more goals in the second half from Zachary Elbouzedi and Nabil Bahoui sealed all three points for AIK, who moved back into third place on the log with 50 points.
The win took them to a mere four points behind leaders Malmoe and with only three games of the season to go, ‘Marcelo’s AIK have an outward chance of winning the league.
Ouma will hope to transfer some of his fine form for his club to the Harambee Stars as he was called up for Kenya’s last two FIFA 2022 Qatar World Cup qualifying games against Uganda and Mali.
The matches are pretty much a formality as Harambee Stars have no chance of qualification after no wins in their opening four games.

Kenyan Defender in Trials with Portuguese Club
Elsewhere, Sylvester Owino, the Kakamega Homeboyz centre back, has taken a huge step into furthering his career as he is hoping to secure a move to Portuguese second-tier side CF Estrela De Amadora.
The young defender left Kenya two weeks ago, heading to Portugal for trials with the club, and there is a good chance he might make the cut.
