Chelsea fans angry over strange comments by manager Thomas Tuchel
- Thomas Tuchel saw his first game at Chelsea end in a goalless draw at Stamford Bridge
- Blues are currently eight on the Premier League standings as the season reaches second-half
- Tuchel has admitted that it would be difficult for the west Londoners to win the title
Chelsea new boss Thomas Tuchel has stated that it is almost impossible for the Blues to win the Premier League title this season, adding that a top-four finish might also be beyond them.
Lampard's axing came on the backdrop of Chelsea's poor run of results especially in the domestic scene that saw them slip to ninth on the standings.
And German tactician Tuchel was in charge of his first game at the club on Wednesday night, January 27 when they played a goalless draw with Wolves at the Stamford Bridge.
He stated that he would work out a plan to create a team no one likes to play against, despite Blues currently in eight position on the Premier League standings.
When asked of the possibility of winning the title, he replied via Daily Mail:
“The title? Whaoh, it’s far away you know. When you sign for Chelsea as a player or like me as a manager, you sign for the expectation to challenge for titles. That means Premier League, the Champions League and all the cups. It’s absolutely clear.
“At the same time, we have to be realistic. There are a lot of teams between us and fourth – and a lot of points in between us. The best thing is that we don’t lose the focus and look too far, but stay and work on the details on a daily basis and the points will follow.
“This is the starting point. We will focus on our strengths and qualities and we will build a team nobody wants to play against, that’s the challenge. It’s for me to do that as fast as possible. For today, I was very pleased.”
Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Chelsea forward Tammy Abraham has rubbished claims that Antonio Rudiger has been causing unrest among the players.
The German defender was not one of Frank Lampard's favourites and he was relegated mostly to the bench by the recently sacked manager.
However, news filtered into the media space said the 27-year-old centre-back had an altercation with his teammate Cezar Azpilicueta during their training sessions earlier this week.
