Kenyan Premier League giants Gor Mahia will be breathing a huge sigh of relief after the club was cleared to use Nyayo Stadium to host the CAF Confederation Cup clash against Congolese outfit As Otoho.
K’ogalo were paired to face the Congolese club in a two-legged clash, with the second leg slated for December 5 in Nairobi.

FootballThere was some uncertainly surrounding the venue of the second leg clash after the main venues – Kasarani and Nyayo Stadium were banned from hosting international matches over failure to meet required standards.
The World Cup qualifier between Kenya and Rwanda on Monday, November 15, was supposed to be the final international game to be allowed at either of the two venues before the ban took effect.
However, Goal reports that Gor Mahia have been given the green light to play their clash at the Nyayo Stadium, but they will need to find an alternative venue should they advance to the group stage.
Tusker FC, who are also in the CAF Confederations Cup, also expect a similar clearance by the end of Wednesday, November 17.
The Brewers start their campaign against Tunisian side CS Sfaxien, while Gor Mahia will also play their opener in Congo.

FootballHad CAF not eased their stance on the stadium ban, Gor Mahia had written to Tanzania Football Federation seeking to use either Benjamin Mkapa Stadium as an alternative.
Nyayo Stadium had recently only partially met the international requirements while the Kasarani Stadium remains worse off.
The temporary reprieve will come as a major boost for Gor Mahia, who play impressively well when they have the home support.
