Pep Guardiola Fires Warning to Man City Duo for Going Partying After Leeds Win
FootballPremier League Title Prediction Made as Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea Go Neck-To-Neck
- The 2021/22 Premier League season is proving to be a three-horse race pitting Man City, Liverpool, and Chelsea
- The three teams have been in scintillating form this term, with City currently topping the standings
- Chelsea have faltered in recent days, dropping points against rivals Man United at home and away to West Ham
- However, ex-keeper David James still believes the Blues have all it takes to be crowned champions at the end of the season
Former England goalkeeper David James has rated Chelsea as the team to beat in the Premier League title race.
The Blues have been in scintillating shape this season, winning nine of their first 12 league matches to emerge as early pacesetters in the Premier League.
However, the west Londoners dropped points at home to Man United at the end of November and suffered a 3-2 loss last weekend against West Ham to fall behind their title rivals.
Thomas Tuchel's charges looked set to drop points against Leeds United on Saturday, December 11, only for Jorginho to net a stoppage-time penalty to hand his side a crucial win.
Chelsea are now placed third on the log with 36 points, two behind leaders Man City and just one behind Liverpool who are placed second.
And despite faltering in the title challenge, ex-goalkeeper James contends the Stamford Bridge dwellers are the team to beat ahead of Liverpool and City.
"I’m glad Chelsea won today because they are the team to beat for me," he told Stadium Astro.
"It’s a tough season but I think Chelsea are the team to beat. When you see Liverpool in this kind of determined form, stringing wins together, of course, they are going to run them close," he added.
