FootballMan United Legend Snubs Klopp, Tuchel Names Best Manager in The Premier League
- Roy Keane has backed Pep Guardiola to lead Man City to Premier League triumph
- Keane described Pep as "the man" as he insisted the Spaniard is a class above his rivals
- Guardiola has helped City win three EPL crowns since his arrival from Bayern in 2016
Man United icon Roy Keane has named Man City boss Pep Guardiola the best manager in the Premier League.
The English topflight has some of the world's best managers currently plying their trade in England including Jurgen Klopp, Antonio Conte, Thomas Tuchel, Claudio Ranieri, and Man United's Ralf Rangnick.
However, Keane contends Pep is a class above his counterparts, with the United legend describing the Spaniard as "the man" while delving into the EPL title race.
"I’d never bet against Man City now, I’ve just learnt my lesson from last year. It doesn’t necessarily mean Liverpool or Chelsea can’t pip them to the title, but I think Pep is the man, I look at all of the managers I think Pep is the man," Keane said on Sky Bet’s Driving Home for Christmas.
While many have argued that Pep is only good because he has good players within his disposal, Keane believes that argument is a fallacy.
"People say he’s got the best players, but you still have to manage them, you still have to find a style of play and if you’re going to pick a team to watch it’s going to be Manchester City aren’t you," Keane added.
Guardiola has led City to three Premier League title triumphs since his arrival at the Etihad from Bayern Munich in 2016.
However, it is the Champions League that has appeared elusive for the Spaniard who came close to leading City to European glory last season when they missed out on the title to rivals Chelsea.
