Amaju Pinnick who is the president of the Nigerian Football Federation has stated clearly that there will be an announcement of a new Super Eagles coach in few days to come.
This latest development means that a foreign coach will be named and he will take the Super Eagles of Nigeria to the African Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
Recently, the Nigerian Football Federation announced the sacking of Gernot Rohr after five years in charge of the Super Eagles and Augustine Eguavoen was named as replacement on interim capacity.
According to the latest news on The Guardian, Amaju Pinnick met some editors in Lagos on Wednesday, December 22, where he disclosed the plans of the Football Federation.
Amaju Pinnick's statement
“We have our own internal process and we are working closely with the ministry of sports and our lawyers to ensure we tidy up the situation soon.
“We have spoken to three top coaches and next week, the Federation will announce the name of the new manager.
“The thing is that every top coach wants to coach Nigeria, but our emphasis is on discipline. We have looked at the coaches’ antecedents and the technical and executive committees of the Federation have chosen from the three.”
