  • Mohamed Salah and teammate at Liverpool Jota are in the Premier League team of the year as Cristiano Ronaldo was snubbed
  • Manchester City's duo of Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling were also not included in the Premier League XI
  • Pep Guardiola and his wards at the Etihad stadium are currently topping the Premier League table after 18 games

Cristiano Ronaldo has been snubbed in the Premier League team of the year 2021 despite his recent superb performances since returning to Manchester United this season.

But his omission from the list is expected to be understandable by Manchester United fans considering the fact that some other players started the year 2021 in the Premier League.

According to the report on UK Sun and Sportskeeda, Chelsea who are the reigning European champions have only one player in the Premier League team of the year and he is goalkeeper Mendy.

There is no doubt about the fact that goalkeeper Mendy has been superb since he moved to the Premier League helping Chelsea to win the Champions League title this year.

Did Mohamed Salah of Liverpool make the list?

Mohamed Salah is definitely the man of the moment in the Premier League considering his superb performances so far for Liverpool and he is among the team XI of the year.

The Egypt international will in January be traveling to Cameroon for the 2021 African Cup of Nations.

Below is the Premier League team of the year
