Super Eagles interim coach Augustine Eguavoen has assured that the team’s backroom staff will do everything in helping William Troost-Ekong back to his very best, Complete Sports reports.
Nigeria will be busy in January when the Africa Cup of Nations kicks-off in Cameroon and the country will look to take the best players for the tournament.
Watford defender Ekong has not been in impressive form in recent times, making a number of errors that has cost his team all three points in the Premier League.
Three-time African champion Nigeria are drawn in Group D alongside Egypt, Sudan and Guinea-Bissau.

FootballReports have it that the team’s camp will be thrown open at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo from December 28.
And in a chat with sports radio station, Brila FM, Eguavoen stated that the Super Eagles psychologists are on ground to motivate Ekong and help him rediscover his best again.
Eguavoen said:
“Our psychologist has a big role to play as does the Coaches and the entire team to help lift the confidence of Troost-Ekong.
“He’s also a very strong player and we trust we can help him come through this rough patch.”
Meanwhile, interim coach Augustine Eguavoen has disclosed that he is working on inviting about five new players to the Super Eagles ahead of the forthcoming AFCON tournament.
He added:
“90 percent of the players in the team have been together, we’ll stick with the team that has been together, but we will bring in a few maybe 5. Only a few new faces will get called up.

Sports Brief earlier reported that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will reportedly unveil Portuguese tactician Jose Peseiro as the new Super Eagles coach anytime next week.
Nigeria fired Gernot Rohr last week and technical director Augustine Eguavoen will take over as temporary manager until a new coach is named.
It was gathered that former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho was contacted by desperate NFF president Amaju Pinnick who reached out to the Portuguese to help search for a formidable coach.
