Nigerian midfielder Joe Aribo may not be available for selection when the Super Eagles file out against Lesotho on Tuesday, March 30.

The 24-year-old who recently helped Rangers to win their first Scottish League title in 10 years was not part of the training the previous day at the Teslim Balogun - the venue for the game.

Reports claim he suffered stomach upset during the session, hence, he may end up not playing a part in the game.

Eagles boss Gernot Rohr is unsure if the former Charlton Athletic player will be featured in his side's last AFCON Group L fixture as quoted by Complete Sport, saying:

“Unfortunately we have a player missing (in training) – Joe Aribo. He has stomach problems. So, we are not sure he will play."

The German-born tactician is also hoping Everton attacker Alex Iwobi will return a negative COVID-19 result before the game.

Rohr insisted that he will include the ex-Gunnars winger in his starting XI if he gets the green light to play.

“We are also waiting for the COVID-19 result of Iwobi. If he is negative he can play, if not we will play again with Henry (Onyekuru) on the left side as we did in Benin.”

Nigeria and Benin are already through to the finals of the competition staging in Cameroon in 2022 - meaning this last game is inconsequential.
