Nigeria's Super Eagles recorded their second straight 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier victory after beating Cape Verde 2-1 at the Aderito Sena Stadium.

The home team drew the first blood just after minutes into the encounter with a superb finish but Victor Osimhen repaid their kindness 10 minutes later to level parity.

Kenny Santos tried a back pass to his goalkeeper but the ball went straight into the back of the net in spite of Kenny Rochas Santo's attempt to stop the ball from crossing the goal line.

Coach Gernot Rohr's men are now six points away from guaranteeing their play at the 2022 edition of the global football showpiece staging in Qatar.

Up next for the three-time AFCON kings will be a doubleheader against the Central African Republic with both games coming up in October.

A won for Nigeria in both games secured their place at the World Cup and their two remaining games in November will be inconsequential.
