Everton vs Kariobangi Sharks: Toffees sign Barcelona star Andre Gomes ahead of pre-season tie

Everton have signed Andre Gomes from Barcelona in a £22 million deal for five years, after a successful loan spell at the club.

The 25-year-old played in 29 games while on loan with the Merseyside club last year and scored one goal.

The Toffees signed Gomes ahead of traveling to Nairobi to take on Sportpesa Cup winners Kariobangi Sharks FC, on Sunday, July 7, in the first 2019 pre-season friendly.

"I am really happy to sign the contract with everton. It was not hard to decide, it was an easy decision and im very happy to have made it,

"Last year was really good experience for me I just wanted to feel part of something special and i found it here," Gomes said.

The game against Kariobangi Sharks will be Everton's second visit to East Africa having defeated Gor Mahia FC 2-1.

Gomes will be part of the star studded squad set to feature in Nairobi as Marco Silva embarks on his summer upgrades, in preparation for the English Premier League next season.

Tickets are going for KSh 100 and will be available from July 1 at SportPesa kiosks, while VIP tickets will also be available at Mookh.com .

Kick-off is slated for 4pm East African Time (EAT) at Kasarani Stadium.
