Ghanaian striker, Antoine Semenyo, has signed a long-term deal with English Premier League side AFC Bournemouth in the summer transfer window.

The 24-year-old penned a five-year contract after an outstanding campaign last season, which saw the Black Stars forward making a 10-goal contribution in the English topflight.

Semenyo joined the Cherries in January 2023 but injuries hampered his first-half campaign at the Vitality Park.

However, the former Bristol City forward found his feet in his first full campaign, playing a starring role alongside Dominic Solanke for Bournemouth.

His contribution to the club saw Bournemouth secure their best points haul in a single campaign with 48 points.

Bournemouth Chief Executive Neill Blake emphasised the importance of Semenyo to the club, hence the extension of his contract.

"It has been clear for all to see the rate of Antoine's development since joining 18 months ago. He has gone from strength to strength, and enjoyed an incredible first full season with us," he told the club's official website.
"Agreeing on a new long-term contract was important for us to recognise his contribution as a key member of our squad, and we're excited to see this continue for years to come."

Semenyo has been incredible for both club and country in the past year, playing a role as Ghana qualified for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

He was also featured in the victories over Mali and the Central African Republic last month in the World Cup qualifiers, as reported by Graphic Sports.
