Kaizer Chiefs marketing director Jessica Motaung explained why the club appointed Nasreddine Nabi as their new manager.

The Tunisian tactician joined the squad in Turkey as Amakhosi now begin preseason activities ahead of the coming campaign.

Nabi joins the Soweto giants with an impressive track record of titles after winning back-to-back trebles with Tanzanian giants Young Africans.

Jessica Motaung has addressed the arrival of Amakhosi's new head coach, saying efforts were made to ensure the right manager was appointed.

She added that Nabi's passion and hunger for success made him stand out amongst other tacticians linked with the plum job. She said:

“We’re looking forward to his work, and the team that he’s assembled and also the younger players and the older players who’ve been part of the squad.
“We looked at a number of things, we looked for the right coach who has coached on the continent, who understands the Chiefs brand, who understands where we want to go.
"A coach who has got hunger and passion for success, passion for the Chiefs brand and a whole lot more."

Motaung thanked the club owner and sporting director for their extensive work in bringing Nabi to the Naturena. The club officials will hope that their recent revamp will lead them to titles next season.

Grant Kekana linked with Kaizer Chiefs

Sports Brief earlier reported that Kaizer Chiefs are said to be on alert as Grant Kekana is yet to agree on contract extension with Mamelodi Sundowns.

The Bafana Bafana defender is said to be locked in discussions with Masandawana in a bid to extend his current deal.

Kekana's contract with the club expires in 2026, but he is said to be making efforts to get an improved agreement with the champions.
