Paul Onauchu is said to be on the radar of Jose Mourinho, with the veteran manager recommending Fenerbahce sign the Nigerian striker this summer.
The 30-year-old Super Eagles forward spent last season on loan at Trabzonspor in the Turkish Super Lig and scored 15 goals in all competitions.
According to Own Goal Nigeria, Mourinho would love Onauchu to lead Fenerbahce’s attack in the 2025/25 season as he begins the quest to wrest the league title from Galatasaray in the new season.
The Special One's team is reportedly leading the race for the Nigerian forward as negotiations have reportedly started with his parent club, Southampton, who are demanding €15 million for the striker.

With the Saints' promotion back to the English Premier League, it remains unclear where Onauchu will play next season, although rumours suggest he would prefer to stay in Turkey.
Mourinho wants Fati at Fenerbahce
Meanwhile, Mourinho is also monitoring the situation of Barcelona’s wonderkid, Ansu Fati, as he is eager to bring the struggling Spanish international to Fenerbahce next season.
Per GOAL, the veteran Portuguese manager is considering a move for Fati, who the Catalans consider expendable after spending last season on loan with Brighton in the Premier League.
Barcelona would like to sell Fati, but he has a contract until 2027, so a loan move seems more realistic. It remains to be seen whether Fenerbahce will be able to fund such a deal.
