French giants, Olympique Lyonnais, have announced the capture of Ghanaian forward Ernest Nuamah on a permanent deal from Belgium outfit RWD Molenbeek.

The 20-year-old forward signed a four-year deal to join Lyon in the summer transfer window after a successful loan spell.

Nuamah arrived in France last summer, where he joined the former champions from FC Nordsjaelland, helping them secure a place in Europe following a strong finish to the campaign.

His outstanding performances for the club convinced the top hierarchy to keep the sensational forward.

"Olympique Lyonnais announces the definitive acquisition of Ghanaian international striker Ernest Nuamah, from RWDM, for a period of 4 years, until June 30, 2028. The transfer amount is €28.5 million," wrote Lyon on their official website.

Nuamah made 33 appearances, scoring three goals for the club last season, per Transfermarkt.

The Black Stars forward will immediately join his teammates for pre-season as preparations begin ahead of the start of the new season.

The Right to Dream Academy graduate cut short his vacation in Ghana to ensure the move was sealed.

Nuamah was part of Ghana's team for the World Cup qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic, scoring in the 2-1 victory in Bamako against the Eagles.

Nuamah scores as Ghana beat Mali

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that forward Nuamah scored as Ghana defeated Mali in Bamako to return to winning ways in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Mali opened the scoring through Kamory Doumbia at the stroke of half-time but Nuamah responded after the break before Ayew netted the winner in extra-time.

The hosts made their intentions clear early in the game after winger Lassine Sinayoko pulled a great save from Ghana goalkeeper Lawrence Ati Zigi. Moments later, the Saint Gallen shot-stopper was tested again as the Black Stars' defence was put under huge pressure, with Alexander Djiku intercepting a Falaye Sacko pass.
