In a surprising turn of events, former Bafana Bafana head coach Steve Komphela has recently returned to DStv Premiership champions, Mamelodi Sundowns.
He resumed managerial duties after bagging his 18th career posting, less than a year after he left the club for brief stints at Moroka Swallows and Golden Arrows.
The 56-year-old will assist Manqoba Mngqithi, who is still viewed as the caretaker coach after Rulani Mokwena was relieved of his duties.

He also stated that Mamelodi Sundowns would scout for the best coach to lead the club to greater heights following Rulani Mokwena's exit.

FootballSports Brief earlier reported that former Kaizer Chiefs star, Junior Khanye disclosed why Rulani Mokwena was sacked as head coach of Sundowns.
The tactician left his role by mutual consent despite winning titles at Masandawana, including the maiden edition of the African Football League.
According to Khanye, Sundowns' losses in the Nedbank Cup and CAF Champions League exit were likely to have cost Mokwena his job at the club.
