UEFA and Adidas have released a new ball that will be used in the semi-finals of Euro 2024 as the competition enters its home stretch.

Only four teams remain in Germany to battle for the top honours in the July 14 final after pulsating action during the quarter-final leg.

Who qualified for Euro 2024 semi-final?

Spain eliminated the hosts, Germany, courtesy of a 119th-minute winner from Mikel Merino to set up another spicy clash against France. Les Bleus required post-match penalties to see off Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal.

The other semi-final will see England play the Netherlands after beating a resilient Switzerland on penalties. The Dutch were the only team to win their tie inside 90 minutes, coming from behind to beat Turkey on July 6.

The remaining three games will be played by a different ball designed by UEFA. Dubbed the FUSSBALLLIEBE FINALE I, it is an upgrade of the ball used in the group stage, with Adidas honouring the host nation by adding vibrant edges of black, red, and gold colours.

Silver has been added to the base to represent the silverware the four teams will be battling for. The 'neutral' colour stands out on the pitch without necessarily reflecting light off it.

Additionally, this is the first UEFA match ball to feature Connected ball technology, which provides real-time data to match officials. It identifies player position with the use of AI, which helps the semi-automated offside technology that has been in use throughout the tournament.

Harry Kane provides injury update

Sports Brief has also reported that Harry Kane has provided an update on his condition after colliding with Gareth Southgate during England's game against Switzerland on July 6.

The captain was immediately substituted, watching the remainder of the game on the bench, but he has allayed fears of an injury as they prepare for a semis tie with the Netherlands.
