Soweto giants, Kaizer Chiefs, arrived in the Turkish capital for preseason activities ahead of the 2024/2025 football season.

Tunisian tactician, Nasreddine Nabi, poised to assume his role as the club's new head coach, is billed to join the squad in Turkey.

Amakhosi may have completed their first signing of his era after former Orlando Pirates star, Bongani Sam, was seen with the team.

FARPost reports that Sam has become Kaizer Chiefs' first signing of the summer as a total overhaul continues. The report added:

"Bongani Sam, [Kaizer Chiefs'] first signing of the transfer window, was among the travelling party.
"Having secured a deal, Sam from Orlando Pirates looks poised to fill the left-back position previously occupied by Sifiso Hlanti.
"This signals a potential shift in the team’s defensive line-up."

Meanwhile, Khune's future with the club remains uncertain as the veteran goalkeeper is now officially out of contract with Chiefs.

Eight players saw their contracts expire in June, and Sifiso Hlanti, Keegan Dolly, Njabulo Ngcobo, and Siyethemba Sithebe have all been released.

Khune was nowhere to be found as the squad landed in Istanbul, sparking concerns over his future as the 37-year-old is undecided whether to continue playing or eventually hang up his boots.

Only recently, Brilliant Khuzwayo, Khune's former teammate, urged the South African legend to be wise in his decisions should opportunities come his way this summer.

Grant Kekana linked with Kaizer Chiefs

Sports Brief earlier reported that Kaizer Chiefs are on alert as Grant Kekana has yet to agree on a contract extension with Mamelodi Sundowns.

The Bafana Bafana defender is said to be in discussions with Masandawana about extending his current deal but talks have reportedly stalled.

Kekana's contract with the club expires in 2026, but he is said to be making efforts to attract an improved agreement with the champions.
