Premier Soccer League club Mamelodi Sundowns have parted ways with impressive manager Rulani Mokwena with immediate effect.
In a statement released on Wednesday, July 3, Masandawana announced that a mutual decision was reached to end the tactician's era.
Rulani moved to the Loftus Versfeld Stadium outfit in 2020 when he was appointed alongside Manqoba Mngqithi, but a year following their reign, the latter was demoted.
Rulani went on to lead the club to two DStv Premiership titles, one Nedbank Cup, one MTN8, one Carling Black Label, and the AFL titles.

However, there were insinuations that the tactician was already plotting his exit from the club after having a fallout with the club's sporting director, Flemming Berg, this summer.
Mokwena rumoured to be disgruntled
It was gathered that the manager was unimpressed about the movement of players in and out of the club. However, the club stated that the decision was not influenced or based on the recommendation of any individual.
The statement on the club's website added:
"Sundowns wishes to express its gratitude to Rhulani Mokwena for his contribution to the successes and achievements of the Club during his tenure as Head Coach.
"Rhulani Mokwena will forever be part of the Mamelodi Sundowns Family and the club wishes him all of the very best with his future endeavours."

Mass exodus looms at Sundowns
Sports Brief earlier reported that Mamelodi Sundowns must sell some of their first-team players this summer as they prepare for the 2024-25 Premier Soccer League season.
The Brazilians won the Dstv Premiership last season, their seventh consecutive title, and are gunning for their 18th league title next campaign.
Gaston Sirino, Rushine de Reuck, Reyaad Pieterse and Sammy Seabi have all been linked with a possible exit from the club this summer.
