Sports Brief looks at the five players with the most chances created, as first called by Planet Football.

Players with most chances created at Euro 2024

1. Christian Eriksen

Eriksen created 16 chances for Denmark in four games before Germany eliminated them. His career nearly took a wrong turn at Euro 2020 when he suffered heart problems, but he fully recovered to boss the midfield in 2024.

2. Toni Kroos

Kroos announced he would retire from professional football at the end of the tournament on home soil. He has been one of Julian Nagelsmann’s favourite weapons at the tournament. He orchestrated games for Germany and created 13 chances.

3. Lamine Yamal

According to SportBible, the 16-year-old is defying German laws of not allowing U18s to work past 8 pm to represent Spain. He has formed a brilliant wing duo with Nico Williams. Yamal has created 11 chances in four games.

3. Kevin De Bruyne

In what could have been his final appearance at the European Championship, KDB did not have a pretty campaign per his standards but managed to create 11 chances. Belgium were eliminated by neighbours, France, in the Round of 16.

5. Pedri, Ferdi Kagiolu, Joshua Kimmich

Another Barcelona youngster, Pedri, is playing in his second Euro tournament at 21. He represented Spain in 2021, helping them reach the semi-final. He has created 10 chances. He shares the honour with Turkiye's Ferdi Kagiolu and Germany's Joshua Kimmich.

De Bruyne insults journalist

Sports Brief reported on Kevin De Bruyne insulting Tancredi Palmeri after the Italian journalist asked him about Belgium's golden generation not reaching a final.

The Manchester City star was visibly upset and called the reporter stupid as he stormed out of the press conference after France eliminated Belgium from Euro 2024.
