Albertin Montoya's team, which had faced a turbulent and inconsistent debut campaign, desperately needed a victory to bring some stability to their season as they pursue a championship playoff spot. Oshoala stepped up to ensure her team’s success.

The reigning and record six-time Confederation of African Football (CAF) Women’s Player of the Year again etched her name in the history books at Lynn Family Stadium in Louisville, Kentucky.

With her strike in the 76th minute, the former Barcelona Femení forward became the first-ever scorer of a penalty in the NWSL for Bay FC, as reported by Punch Sports.

The Nigerian forward had also found the back of the net three times this season, with all her strikes coming on the road.

Oshoala took to social media to react after further etching her name in the club's history.

It should also be noted that the superstar forward also scored the first-ever goal for the new club in the NWSL against Angel City FC.

Sports Brief also reported that Oshoala's bicycle kick for Barcelona against Benfica in the 2023/24 Women’s Champions League season has been named the tournament's Goal of the Season.

The Nigerian forward helped seal a convincing 5-0 victory for the Catalan giants in the first week of the competition, scoring the fifth goal in the group-stage opening victory on November 14, 2023.

Oshoala completed a winter transfer to the United States, joining NWSL outfit Bay FC after a trophy-laden five-year stint with the Catalan club during which she claimed many trophies and awards.
