Kevin De Bruyne was far from happy with the 'Golden Generation' question posed to him by a journalist following Belgium's elimination at Euro 2024.
The Red Devils lost to France on July 1 by a solitary score, courtesy of a Jan Vertonghen own goal five minutes from time.
The game in Dusseldorf was recently contested across the 90 minutes, with both teams guilty of missing good chances. Randal Kolo Muani came off the bench to win the game for Les Bleus after his shot took a wicked deflection off Vertonghen.
Why did Kevin De Bruyne call the journalist 'stupid'?
After the game, Sport Italia correspondent, Tancredi Palmeri, asked De Bruyne whether he was gutted that the Belgian 'Golden Generation' hadn't reached another final. The skipper did not take the question too kindly and said,

"And you say that France, England, Spain, and Germany are not a golden generation?"
He was then heard saying 'stupid' as he walked off.
'De Bruyne is a spoiled brat'
Palmeri fired back at the Manchester City captain via his official X account, noting that all the teams De Bruyne had mentioned had reached at least one final of a major competition.
"Ahah, De Bruyne just called me stupid. Hey Kevin, little memo for you: the golden generations you mentioned of France, England, Germany and Spain they ALL REACHED A FINAL!"
Palmeri went ahead and fired a salvo of his own.
