Emmanuel Amuneke appears poised to make a comeback to coaching after a hiatus of over a year from managerial roles.
The former Barcelona forward last led Zambia's MTN/FAZ Super Division club, Zanaco FC, where he served as both coach and consultant until early 2023.
The 53-year-old previously sought to take over as coach of Nigeria's Super Eagles following Jose Peseiro's departure at the end of February.
However, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) opted to appoint Finidi George instead.

After this snub, a report from media outlet, ScoreNigeria, has claimed the 1994 Africa Player of the Year is poised to return to coaching.

According to the report, the former Sporting CP forward has reached an agreement with Heartland, a Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side.
The report also indicates that both parties have already begun working together, with an official announcement expected soon.
