Mauricio del Castillo, the younger brother to Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero, has blasted Pep Guardiola following the Citizens’ Champions League loss to English rivals Chelsea.
A goal from Kai Havertz gave Chelsea a well-deserved 1-0 win against Man City as the Blues picked up their second Champions League title.
Despite being the club’s all-time record scorer, Aguero was introduced into the encounter barely 15 minutes to the end.
And the Argentine’s brother expressed displeasure over the tactical approach, saying Guardiola had wanted to end Aguero’s career earlier.
In a now-deleted rant on Twitter, he said per Mirror via SPORTbible:
"Guardiola never wanted my brother since his arrival at City."
That initial tweet was then removed and when asked why, he replied:
"Many toxic people, too many."
The 25-year-old, who is also a striker and plays for Independiente, replied:
"Perfect, I'm glad people have seen it and I'll write it again if I want."
Gabriel Jesus was signed in 2017 by Guardiola and many believed it was a direct replacement for Aguero.
However, he ended up sticking around an additional four years and remained their main man up front.
Earlier, Guardiola disclosed that Sergio Aguero is close to agreeing a deal with Barcelona this summer after ten years with the Etihad outfit.
The Spanish gaffer became emotional as he said the legendary Argentine forward is irreplaceable while speaking in a post-match interview.
The 32-year-old signed off in style as he came in as second half substitute to score two goals against Everton during the Citizens' 5-0 win.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Lionel Messi has reportedly signed a two-year extension to end all speculations linking with a move away from Barcelona this summer.
The Argentine superstar was already being targeted by Manchester City and Paris Saint Germain with his current deal set to expire next month.
Sources say that the six-time Ballon d'Or winner will be joined by his countryman Sergio Aguero after leaving the Etihad Stadium side this summer as reported by SunSport quoting Spanish news website El Confidencial.
