With Kaizer Chiefs parting ways with Jasond Gonzalez after he failed to impress, Sports Brief looks at four players who were considered to be disappointing signings.

4 most disappointing PSL signings

Efmamjjasond González

Known as Jasond González, the Colombian striker was brought in on loan from Real Santa Cruz.

He made just 13 appearances since joining the side in August 2023 but failed to find the back of the net.

GOAL reported that Chiefs have decided that the player should return to his parent club.

Bradley Ralani

After winning numerous trophies at Mamelodi Sundowns, the club opted not to renew Ralani’s contract.

The man known as Surprise remained a free agent until he showed up at newly promoted Cape Town City.

iDiskiTimes noted that he left the club after just two months, but then was recalled a few weeks later as the Urban Warriors fought to avoid relegation.

Ralani was then let go a second time, after making just 14 appearances for the side.

Mduduzi Mdantsane

After making a name for himself at Chiefs, Mdantsane left the club and then returned after a spell at Cape Town City.

His return hasn’t gone as planned, as the midfielder only made 16 appearances for the side.

He also found himself in trouble for showing up for training under the influence of alcohol.

There are now reports that he could leave the club once more.

Thabiso Kutumela

Kutumela was once considered one of the hottest prospects in the PSL, while he was the captain of Maritzburg United.

He then earned a dream move to Mamelodi Sundowns but was more of a bench warmer at the team.

He joined Cape Town City at the start of the 2023/24 season, and despite playing 25 games for the side, he only scored two goals and provided one assist.

Chiefs part ways with 4 players

Sports Brief also recently reported that the Amakhosi have parted ways with four of their senior players.

The club are trimming their squad ahead of the 2024/25 season and a new manager in Nasreddine Nabi.

Among notable names who were let go are Keagan Dolly, and former AmaZulu star, Siyethemba Sithebe.
