The Senegalese Football Federation president, Augustin Senghor, has reacted to comments made by national team talisman Sadio Mane after the game against DR Congo during the World Cup qualifiers.
The Al-Nassr forward openly criticised the system used by coach Aliou Cisse as the Teranga Lions were held at home by the Leopards on June 6, 2024.
His submissions raised questions about his relationship with the former Senegal captain. Mane and other top players in the team are reported to be unhappy with the gaffer since their early Africa Cup of Nations exit.

However, the FSF boss does not agree with Mane insisting such comments should not come from someone like him.
“It is not in a microphone that I am going to give our entire position on this statement by Sadio Mané. If I really comment on this statement, I will agree with him on his error," he told Sud FM, as quoted by Wiw Sport.
"I think he should not have spoken at that time. It would be a big mistake on my part if I didn't say it. It is my duty to be frank. I admire and respect Sadio Mané very much, and it is precisely for this reason that I must tell him that he was wrong if he is wrong."

FootballMeanwhile, Mane was not involved in action during the qualifiers early this month against DR Congo and Mauritania, per Sofascore.
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Sadio Mane was left frustrated after Senegal were held at home in their World Cup qualifier against the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The Al-Nassr star missed the game due to an injury he picked in the King's Cup final against Al-Hilal but was at the Abdoulaye Wade Stadium to support his teammates.
Senegal opened the scoring in the first half through Ismaila Sarr, but a late Fiston Mayele strike saw the game end with the two teams sharing the spoils.
