Everton midfielder, Amadou Onana, is clearly a man in demand.
Bayern Munich is the latest club to be linked with the Belgian midfield maestro, currently away with his national team at the 2024 European Championship.
Everton could potentially have to sell one of their superstars soon as they look to avoid breaching the profit and sustainability rules (PSR), having already been found guilty twice recently.
Onana is among the players The Toffees could cash in on. According to the Liverpool Echo, Bayern Munich have entered the race to sign the midfielder, who was on Arsenal’s radar as a potential replacement for Thomas Partey.

Who is Bayern’s preferred choice?
The publication further reports that Onana was not Bayern’s first choice, and the Bavarians are still holding on to hopes of signing Joao Palhinha from Fulham.
The Cottagers' chiefs are said to have remained firm in their valuation of the Portuguese midfielder and are reportedly unwilling to accept Bayern's offer of £40 million.
Interestingly, Bayern offered £60 million for Palhinha last summer, but the deal ultimately collapsed.
Since Palhinha’s deal could prove to be complicated, Bayern chiefs are exploring cheaper alternatives, with Onana emerging as a more plausible option to bolster the German giants' midfield.

FootballCan Onana move to Bayern?
Onana has bolstered his reputation as a dependable midfielder at Everton, where he made 29 appearances across all competitions last season.
On the international front, the 22-year-old is an ever-present figure on the Belgium team sheet, playing full minutes in all of the Red Devils’ three group games.
One factor that could encourage the midfielder to move to Bavaria is his familiarity with German football. Onana joined Hoffenheim in 2017 as a youth prospect and switched to Hamburg in 2020, per Transfermarkt.
However, he has yet to play in Germany’s top flight, as his stint with Hamburg was in the 2. Bundesliga in 2020/2021. At Hoffenheim, he never progressed beyond the B-team.
Michael Olise to undergo Bayern medical
Sports Brief also previously reported on Michael Olise’s impending transfer to Bayern after the 22-year-old reportedly decided on the Bundesliga giants.
Chelsea and Newcastle United were said to be among the parties that contacted the Eagles in June inquire about the France international’s availability.
