With the focus now on who will win the progress to the next stages and eventually win the trophy, attention is also shifting to the Golden Boot race.

The German edition of the tournament has so far lived up to its billing, with underdogs leaving a mark in the competition.

At least 80 goals have been scored so far, with more expected in the next round of the tournament.

Despite the tally, some of the continent's top sharpshooters have struggled in front of the goal, with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Harry Kane yet to find the back of the net.

Ronaldo, Kane struggles

According to FourFourTwo, Ronaldo, who was the recipient of the Euro 2020 Golden Boot award, is keen to retain the crown.

However, the Al Nassr superstar is yet to score, with the greatest highlight of his performances so far being his selfish assist for Bruno Fernandes against Turkey.

Kane, meanwhile, has endured his fair share of struggles with the England team.

Despite his incredible goalscoring streak with Bayern Munich last season, the former Tottenham Hotspur ace is yet to get his name on the scoresheet.

On his part, Kylian Mbappe has scored only one goal so far, with his goal coming against Poland in the group stages.

Who are the leading scorers at Euro 2024?

As it stands, Georgia star, Georges Mikautadze, is leading the hunt for the Golden Boot.

According to Goal, the Metz forward has scored a goal each in all of his side's group games against Turkey, Czech Republic and Portugal.

Liverpool striker, Cody Gakpo, sits second in the goalscorers charts, with two goals to his name.

Gakpo netted in the Netherlands' 2-1 win over Poland in their opening game, before adding to his tally in his side's 3-2 loss to Austria.

The Liverpool ace is tied on two goals with German stars Niclas Fullkrug, Jamal Musiala, and Slovakia's Ivan Schranz.

Fullkrug came off the bench to score in the opening game against Scotland before replicating the feat with a late equaliser in Germany's 1-1 draw with Switzerland.
