Al Nassr superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo, has inked his name in history books yet again.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner is part of Portugal's squad taking part in the ongoing Euro 2024 tournament in Germany.

The veteran forward has played a vital part in the team's campaign thus far, with the Euro 2016 champions already through to the last 16.

Robert Martinez's charges kicked off their campaign with a 2-1 win over the Czech Republic before hammering Turkey 3-0 in their second Group F clash.

However, Martinez's charges fell to a 2-0 defeat to Georgia in their final group-stage clash played on Wednesday, June 26.

Ronaldo makes history

Despite the defeat, Ronaldo still managed to ink his name in the history books of the Euros.

According to Sportskeeda, the forward is now the first European player to make 50 appearances at a major European tournament.

The 39-year-old will be hoping to hit new and incredible milestones, with Portugal still firmly in the tournament.

The former Manchester United star already holds numerous records in the competition, including being the player with the most appearances in the Euros.

Per UEFA.com, the Real Madrid icon has appeared in six different editions of the continental showpiece.

Meanwhile, Selecao will be taking on Slovenia in the last 16 of the Euro 2024.

The knockout clash is slated for Monday, July 1, at the Frankfurt Arena.

The Napoli ace also got the Portugal star's shirt, with the forward taking to Instagram to describe the veteran's gesture as a dream.
