Five best youngsters in Euro 2024 group phase

1. Arda Guler

The Real Madrid star proved why he's dubbed the 'Turkish Messi' in Turkey's opening game against Georgia as he scored one of the goals of the tournament contender in their 3-1 victory.

The former Fernanbahce forward was also named the Man of the Match in the game but had a rough game against Portugal in their second game.

The 19-year-old capped off the group stage with a good performance against the Czech Republic.

2. Jamal Musiala

The Bayern Munich star is arguably the best youngster in the Euros group stage. After his stellar performance in Germany's win over Scotland in the opening game, he was the first player to win the Man of the Match award.

The 21-year-old scored two goals in the group phase, with only Georges Mikautadze having more.

3. Nico Williams

Williams has made Spain's left-wing position his own due to his performance in their first two games in the group stage.

The Athletic Bilbao winger was the best player in La Roja's win over Italy in the second group game, causing many problems for Giovanni Di Lorenzo, but was rested in Spain's 1-0 win over Albania in the third game.

4. Riccardo Calafiori

Calafiori didn't put a foot wrong in the group stage but was unlucky against Spain as his own goal denied Italy a valuable point against La Roja.

The Bologna defender has been solid in defence alongside Bastoni for the Azzurri. His excellent run before setting up Italy's 98th-minute equaliser against Croatia was one of the major highlights of the group phase.

5. Lamine Yamal

The Barcelona youngster has yet to find the back of the net in the tournament but lit up the group stage with a top performance in all three games.

The 16-year-old assisted one of Spain's goals against Croatia and constantly threatened defenders.

He created three big chances in the competition and is one of the players expected to shine in the Round of 16.
