Georgia star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia finally met his idol Cristiano Ronaldo after their Euro 2024 game against Portugal on June 26, 2024.

The Napoli midfielder produced a Man of the Match performance to lead Georgia to a surprising victory over the 2016 champions and advance to their first-ever knockout stage at a major tournament.

Kvaratskhelia, who has never hidden his admiration for the former Real Madrid star, exchanged jerseys with Ronaldo at the end of the game.

The 23-year-old took to social media to express delight after fulfilling his dream of meeting and playing against arguably one of the greatest footballers ever.

He posted the jersey of Ronaldo on his IG story with the caption, dreams.

In a video that has also gone viral on social media, Kvaratskhelia was spotted in Ronaldo's jersey as he celebrated with his coach following their victory.

The dribbling magician scored the opener after two minutes to get the minnows on the front foot before victory was sealed in the second half following a penalty which was converted by Georges Mikautadze.

Georgia will face Spain in the last 16 of the competition while Group F leaders Portugal engage Slovenia.

Forward Kvaratskhelia netted with less than two minutes on the clock in Gelsenkirchen to set Georgia, who have never previously played in a major tournament, on the way to a 2-0 win over Portugal which sent his country through to a daunting knockout clash with Spain.

Speaking after the match, Kvaratskhelia said that Wednesday's win was even better than winning the Serie A title with Napoli last year -- another historic triumph with an unfancied team.
