Cole Palmer has been one of the major talking points in England's underwhelming start to Euro 2024. Gareth Southgate has sparingly used the Chelsea star as the Three Lions put up a series of unconvincing performances.

England, nonetheless, qualified for the Round of 16 as group winners with five points. However, they will have to put in much better performances as the tournament gets into its business stage.

Palmer got his first taste of action on June 25 when he was introduced off the bench for the final 20 minutes against Slovenia.

A day earlier, England's X account shared a video of a fun rondo in training, in which the players played a 'head, shoulder, knees, ball' game.

Reactions to Cole Palmer's training session

The session gauged their reaction speeds, with a player expected to reach the ball first ahead of his opponent. Palmer was paired against John Stones.

The 2023/2024 Young Player of the Season appeared lost, barely coordinating with the instructor's instructions. Stones eventually won the battle as he easily picked up the ball before Palmer could react.

@Chiadi_Kobiani said,

"Palmer doesn’t know his body parts?"

@Chadbury_Bear said,

"Stones didn’t even know if to celebrate that win,"

@Bhilly09 said,

"The boy doesn’t know his shoulders and knees."

In the other contests, Jude Bellingham beat Harry Kane, but the captain avenged in the rematch. Kyle Walker beat Saka, while Kobbie Mainoo easily got the better of Adam Wharton.

Why Phil Foden has returned to England

Sports Brief has reported that Phil Foden has left the Euro 2024 camp and returned to England ahead of their round of 16 game.

The Football Association cited the decision as a family emergency, with the Manchester City player expecting his third child with Rebecca Cooke.

Foden has featured in all of the three games so far.
