England now know the five teams they might face in the last 16 stage of Euro 2024 following their triumph in Group C.

Despite a lacklustre 0-0 draw against Slovenia in Cologne, Gareth Southgate's men managed to secure the top spot in their group by two points.

Denmark, following their 0-0 draw with Serbia, narrowly finished second ahead of Slovenia.

With two groups still to conclude, England await their next opponent but know they will face one of five teams in the last 16.

Fortunately for the Three Lions, they will avoid facing Spain, Germany, and Portugal, who topped their respective groups, as well as France, who finished second in Group D.

England's five possible opponents next round

However, they could face the Netherlands, who ended up third in Group D after a dramatic 3-2 loss to Austria.

On Sky Sports, it was confirmed that any of the four teams in Group E—Belgium, Romania, Slovakia, and Ukraine—could also be potential opponents for England.

Depending on the final standings, the best third-placed teams will determine who England faces in the next round.

The Three Lions aim to replicate their Euro 2020 final run despite a subdued group stage performance.

The final matches of Groups F and G, scheduled for Wednesday evening, will provide a complete picture of the last 16 draw.

Bellingham slammed after ‘No Show’

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that fans condemned Bellingham for an underwhelming performance for England at the 2024 UEFA European Championship in Germany.

The Real Madrid star played the full match as the Three Lions produced another uninspiring display, this time against Slovenia in their final group game on Tuesday, June 25.

Bellingham's statistics were poor by his standards: 0 shots on target, one successful dribble out of five tries, 16 possession turnovers, and the lowest rating among the starting English players.

Kane responds to Gary Lineker

Sports Brief also reported on Harry Kane responding to Gary Lineker after the England legend criticised the team's performance during their draw against Denmark.

The former Tottenham Hotspur forward claimed building up the confidence of the players would have done more good than simply focusing on the criticism of the team.
