Some big names have had a slow start, while others have waited patiently for their chance.

Sports Brief looks at five players who have had limited involvement so far but could play a decisive role in the latter stages.

Players who deserve more minutes at Euro 2024

Cole Palmer (England)

Cole Palmer's stellar performances last season earned him a spot in the England squad. The 21-year-old was a standout in the Premier League, scoring 22 goals and providing 11 assists after transferring from Manchester City to Chelsea. Despite England's lacklustre attack, Palmer was overlooked in the first two games but made an impact when he came on late against Slovenia.

His creativity and confidence could be vital for England, who have struggled for ideas and belief in the final third. The presence of Bukayo Saka and Jude Bellingham in similar roles has limited his minutes, but if England continues to falter, calls for Palmer's inclusion will grow louder.

Lois Openda (Belgium)

Belgium has underperformed so far, barely advancing from a Group E where all four teams finished with four points. Romelu Lukaku has struggled, with three goals overturned by VAR.

Lois Openda, who scored 28 goals for RB Leipzig last season, has had just seven minutes on the pitch at Euro 2024. Openda's pace and quality could rejuvenate a flat Belgian side as they face France in the Round of 16.

Niclas Füllkrug (Germany)

Niclas Füllkrug has excelled as Germany's super-sub. Preferred off the bench, Füllkrug has scored twice in 73 minutes across three substitute appearances, helping Germany top Group A.

The 31-year-old has an impressive international record, with 13 goals in 19 caps, seven of which have come from the bench. His traditional centre-forward playstyle has garnered praise, and he could be a game-changer for Germany in the knockout rounds.

Bradley Barcola (France)

Bradley Barcola has made an impression in his limited time on the pitch for France. The 21-year-old PSG winger started against Poland and showcased his ability to win duels, dribble past defenders, and create chances.

Barcola's x-factor and ability to break lines could provide a boost to France's already potent attack.

Micky van de Ven (Netherlands)

Micky van de Ven has yet to feature prominently for the Netherlands, with Ronald Koeman preferring the experienced duo of Virgil van Dijk and Stefan de Vrij at centre-back.

Despite this, the Dutch defense has looked vulnerable, especially in their 3-2 defeat to Austria. Van de Ven, who was Tottenham's Player of the Season, offers explosive pace and power that could shore up the defence. Pairing him with Van Dijk could form a formidable partnership for the Dutch in the knockout stages.

Ronaldo makes history

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Al Nassr superstar, Ronaldo, inking his name in history books yet again.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner is part of Portugal's squad taking part in the ongoing Euro 2024 tournament in Germany.
