Ronaldo and Messi have dominated the football world for years, hitting various milestones during this period.

To put their dominance into more perspective, the pair has won an impressive 13 Ballon d'Or awards between them, with Messi winning the prize a record-extending eight times.

Despite entering the sunset years of their careers, the duo continue to feature in football conversations.

Beckham calls Messi the GOAT

Beckham has now appeared to reignite that debate after declaring Messi the greatest.

The Inter Miami co-owner made the declaration in his birthday message to the Argentine star.

"Happy Birthday to the greatest. Happy Birthday my friend," the former winger posted on Instagram.

Messi has since responded to his boss and said:

"Thank you very much David!"

The Barcelona icon is currently on international duty with Argentina at the ongoing Copa America.

Per Sportskeeda, the World Cup champions kicked off their continental campaign with a 2-0 win over Canada last Thursday.

Manchester City hotshot Julian Alvarez and Inter Milan's Lautaro Martinez were both on target.
