Kaizer Chiefs' hopes of signing Percy Tau this summer have been dealt a huge blow as reports suggest the legendary South African forward wants a move elsewhere.
The 30-year-old has been strongly linked with a return to the DStv Premier League, with the Amakhosi keen to add his experience to their squad next season.
According to The South African, Tau is eyeing a move to Europe instead, should he leave Al Ahly this summer, and will not be interested in joining Kaizer Chiefs no matter the offer being tabled.
The Soweto giants are expected to announce the appointment of Nasreddine Nabi in the coming days as they begin preparations for the 2024/25 season following a disappointing campaign last term.

Nabi will be tasked with improving Kaizer Chiefs' attacking set-up after none of their forwards reached double figures last season. Top scorer, Ashley du Preez, finished the season with six goals.
Al Ahly unwilling to sell Tau
Meanwhile, Al Ahly is not interested in selling Tau and informed the 30-year-old player that he remains part of their plans amid links with a return to South Africa, KingFut reports.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns forward preferred a return to Europe with Middle Eastern clubs also expressing interest in his services when the 2024 summer transfer window officially opens.
Tau has featured in eight of Al Ahly's 18 Egyptian Premier League matches this season, scoring five goals in the process.
